Apple Health, Health Connect, widgets and Apple Watch

Short answer

Yes. On iPhone, SeeMeEat works with Apple Health and offers widgets and an Apple Watch companion. On Android, it works with Health Connect and offers a home-screen widget. Health sharing is granular: with your permission, SeeMeEat writes nutrition, water and weight, and imports history only when you start an import.

What does SeeMeEat share with Apple Health?

Only what you allow. SeeMeEat asks for granular Apple Health permission, which means you approve each kind of data separately and can share some without the others. With that permission, it can write your dietary energy, macros, supported micronutrients, water and body mass.

Reading is limited too. SeeMeEat imports selected history only when you start the import. It can show your steps, active energy and recent workouts on your phone.

How does Health Connect work on Android?

The same way, for nutrition, hydration and weight. SeeMeEat writes them with your permission and imports selected history when you start an import. Raw Health Connect records aren't part of SeeMeEat's journal sync.

Do steps and workouts change your calorie target?

No. SeeMeEat never adds exercise calories back to your target. If your goal came from the planner, your activity level is already part of it, and adding workout calories on top would count the same activity twice.

What syncs between your devices?

Your journal, after you sign in. Structured journal entries sync across your devices, while original meal photos and speech audio are not part of journal sync. On Android, raw Health Connect records aren't synced either.

You can also take your data with you at any time. SeeMeEat exports your journal as CSV, JSON or PDF through the system share sheet.

Can you share your journal with a professional?

Yes, privately. SeeMeEat's professional sharing lets you choose which parts of your journal a connected professional, such as a dietitian or coach, can see, and you can revoke that access.

What about reminders?

They're local and on your terms. SeeMeEat's reminders run on your phone and arrive only at the times you choose.

Common questions

Can I change what SeeMeEat can access?

Yes. Health access is granular, so you choose which kinds of data to share, and you can change those permissions in Apple Health or Health Connect.
